On his 85th birth anniversary, we thought of sharing some of his iconic and romantic films, which earned him the title of King of Romance.

 “Pyaar, Yash Chopra Ke Geet." You must be wondering, where you’ve heard this dialogue? Well, this dialogue was by Rajpal Yadav in ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’. Indeed, this is the influence that movie producer Yash Chopra had. With his romantic movies, he sculptured a genre in Indian Cinema. He reinvented soft romantic tales, and made numerous hearts throb with his pleasant melodies. With 'Dhhol Ka Phool (1959)', Mr. Chopra made his directorial debut and gave Bollywood various classic movies like Waqt, Daag, Deewar, Kabhi Kabhie, Kaala Patthar, Chandni, Lamhe, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dil to Pagal Hai, Mohabbatein and Veer-Zaara as a film maker and director. Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012) was his last directorial movie. Shockingly, he passed prior to the release of the film.
